Who we are

Alesney Designs is the creation of Alison & Lesley. We are two sisters, who after a lifetime of traveling the world for business, settled in Lymington.  Continuing our love for all things connected to needlework and knitting, a tradition begun as very young girls, we needed an outlet for our energy and creative spirits. Thus, upon our retirement from careers in high end retailing, Alesney Designs was born.

What we do

All of our products are individually handmade just by the two of us.  Our aim is to bring a sense of style and whimsy to what are, in effect, everyday prosaic textile items. We want to combine total functionality with high quality fabrics and unique designs.  As we make each item it is no problem to modify them to our customers’ individual requirements, including personalisation.

WHERE are we

Our primary outlet for all of our products is the Saturday Lymington Market, since 2012. 

You can also find us in the Craft Tent at the New Forest Show at the end of July (Tues 30th – 1st Aug 2024). 

Each year we have stands at various other selected shows. This year will also see us at the Romsey Food Festival on 1st September 2024.

OUR MATERIALS

Our products are generally made using only upholstery weight cottons for quality and durability.

We recommend washing at 30 degrees or less to keep colours sharp.  We source our fabrics from all over including the UK, Germany and the US.  All the insulation we use is a modern insulation from the US which is lightweight, flexible and washable called Insul Bright.
